Cheap accommodation can be found all over Thailand, for the simplest double room prices start at around 100THB in the outlying regions and 150 THB in Bangkok, rising to thousands of baths in some resorts (Phuket, Samui and some other areas). Tourist centers invariably offer a huge range of more up market choices, and you’ll have problem in finding luxury hotels in this places. In most resort areas rates fluctuates according to demand, plummeting during the off-season and, in some places, rising at weekends through-out the year.

Whatever the establishment, staff expect you to look at the room before taking it; in budget one specially, try out the door lock, check for cockroaches and mosquitoes and make sure its’ equipped with a decent mosquitoes net or screen. En-suite showers and flush toilets are the norm only in moderately priced and expensive hotels.
